A Statement From Our Chairman On China’s Detention of Christian Leaders

Randall G. Schriver

By: Randall G. Schriver |

The Institute for Indo-Pacific Security strongly condemns the recent detention of Pastor Mingri “Ezra” Jin and other pastors and staff of the Christian Zion House Church in the People’s Republic of China. This crackdown reflects a longstanding and appalling policy that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) employs to repress and eliminate institutions that operate outside the control of the Party.

We stand firmly by the religious communities that have faced persecution under the CCP and urge the CCP authorities to release the detained church leaders and allow the Chinese people to practice freedom of religion without persecution.

The Honorable Randall G. Schriver

Chairman
The Institute for Indo-Pacific Security
