A Statement From Our Chairman On Japan’s Election

The Institute for Indo-Pacific Security wishes to express its congratulations to the Honorable Sanae Takaichi on her election to be the 104^th Prime Minister of Japan.  Already known for her wealth of knowledge and experience in a wide variety of policy issues, Prime Minister Takaichi is positioned to address Japan’s most pressing challenges, as well as lead Japan to navigate through complex geostrategic challenges that the Indo-Pacific region faces.  We are confident that the U.S.-Japan relationship will continue to thrive under her tenure and look forward to seeing her succeed in her new historic role as the first female prime minister of Japan.
