Dominance by Design: China Shock 2.0 and the Supply Chain Chokepoints Eroding U.S. Security

Institute for Indo-Pacific Security (IIPS) Chairman Randall G. Schriver, in his capacity as USCC Vice-Chair, presided over a U.S-China Economic and Security Review Commission (USCC) hearing on China’s dominance over global supply chains.

The panelists highlighted the unchecked growth of China’s exports and influence, and the growing role they play in exporting critical goods such as minerals, semiconductor chips, and pharmaceutical drugs. Key recommendations included: More active government leadership, collaboration with close allies, and combine multiple tactics in an all-hands-on-deck approach.
